Providing location and contact information for living heirs. Research is conducted and documented to the high standard of proof required for legal matters.

Canadian Citizenship by Descent

Research for dual citizenship applications

Locating and obtaining the certified records needed to document a chain of descent for a Canadian citizenship application. Uncover and preserve your family story

Tracing lineage, answering long-standing family questions, reconnecting with lost friends and relatives, and building a lasting record of your family's history. Investigating unique or complex questions involving historic properties, people, and life events across places and time. Each project is its own journey of discovery.

Tribal Enrollment and Métis Family History Research

Evidence-based ancestry research for tribal enrollment and Métis identity

Specializing in Métis family history, Ojibwe (Chippewa) and Dakota (Sioux) genealogy, and French Canadian lineage, with a focus on families connected to the fur trade and early colonial settlement across western Quebec, Manitoba, and the Upper Midwest. Jessica Schneider - Professional Minneapolis Genealogist for Heir Search and Estate Administration

About Jessica Schneider

Jessica Schneider is a professional genealogist and longtime Colorado resident now based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, serves as Vice President of the Colorado Chapter, and is affiliated with the National Genealogical Society and the Southwest Colorado Genealogical Society. She works with attorneys, probate courts, and individual clients across the country.

Her approach combines deep knowledge of historical records with out-of-the-box thinking. When a record isn't where it should be, she doesn't stop there. She thinks about who a person was, how they lived, and where someone like them would have left a mark, then correlates evidence across sources to build a documented picture of a family and the relationships within it.

Outside of her work, she is active in the local business community and enjoys the Twin Cities live music scene. Get in touch to discuss your research needs.
